New Bus Routes in Tarneit

Lack of new bus routes and poor bus frequency in Tarneit has been a major issue for years.

With patronage at Tarneit Train Station increasing at an exponential rate, there is an immediate need for more bus routes to cover residential estates like Habitat, The Grove, Haven, Newhaven, Little Green, Riverdale Village, Allura, Elements, Albright and Rothwell.

petition to Legislative Council was presented in March 2020. This was covered in local newspaper and local MPs (both lower and upper house) seem to have been advocating for it.

A petition calling for more bus routes and more buses in Tarneit has been signed by hundreds of people.

The Western Rail Plan project that includes electrification of the Wyndham Vale train line, as part of Victoria’s Big Build project, could easily take a decade or more to complete and is not expected to start before 2022. Residents are not ready to wait another 10 to 12 years to solve the current commuting issues.. See More

Residents frustrated to see the buses drive past, but without stopping.

Residents in Allura estate are frustrated to see the buses drive past through the estate from the CDC Depot to Williams Landing, but without stopping. Inadequate bus coverage is heavily impacting the everyday lives of many residents by limiting their access to essential places like train stations, schools, childcare and shopping centres. A petition calling for upgraded bus services in Tarneit has been presented to state Parliament. Western metropolitan MP Catherine Cumming tabled the petition, containing 330 signatures, last month.
